Chasig the Light

This artwork is inspired by the sunset, the changing colors and the symbolism of the dusk. The fleeting beauty of a sunset underscores the transience of life. It reminds us that time is always moving, and that we must appreciate the present before it slips away. In this sense, the sunset becomes a meditation on mortality and the preciousness of each passing moment. The sunset has long held a powerful place in human imagination and artistic expression. It is more than a daily occurrence—it is a visual metaphor rich in symbolism. Across cultures and disciplines, the sunset represents a range of themes including closure, transformation, peace, and the passage of time. Sunsets are also deeply symbolic of peace and reflection. The warm hues of orange, red, and gold evoke a sense of calm and serenity. They invite contemplation, offering a moment to pause and reflect on the day’s events. Many spiritual traditions view the sunset as a sacred time, a moment oftransition when the veil between the earthly and the divine seems thinner. The artwork is a pulsating, dynamic, ever-changing harmony of simplicity, rhythm and geometric forms. The aim is to merge the rhythmically changing colours and forms into a single, ever-flowing calligraphic composition. The artwork is inspired by the innovative freedom of neo-avant-garde surrealism, expressionism and constructivism.
